There's a new player in the local hockey landscape, as Masters Academy International has officially entered its first season on the ice.
The new girls hockey program has been plenty busy.
The program picked up its first win in its first game, knocking off Atlantic Coast Hockey Academy on Sept. 2 at the New England Sports Center. MAI followed it up with a 4-1-0 showing at the NAHA Labor Day Showcase.
Masters Academy will play an independent, tournament-heavy schedule, which will include opponents like Shattuck-St. Mary's. MAI's home games will be at the New England Sports Center.
So, as Masters Academy's inaugural season begins, who are some players to watch?

Gia Orizotti
Masters Academy International, 11/19/2009, F, right shot, 5-5
Hometown: Vancouver, Wash.
NCAA: Harvard
Orizotti is a game-breaker. An explosive player with a heavy shot, the recent Harvard commit earned an invite to USA Hockey's Under-18 Women's National Festival before earning a spot on the U18 Select roster. She had 144 points (67 goals) in 62 games for Winchendon's 16U squad last season. Orizotti had a goal in MAI's inaugural win against AHA before adding six points (three goals) in five games at the NAHA Labor Day Showcase.

Ashlee Marsala
Masters Academy International, 3/2/20019, F, left shot, 5-5
Hometown: Kings Park, N.Y.
NCAA: Long Island
Marsala plays a detailed, highly competitive game in all three zones, and she can produce, too. The LIU commit had 136 points (58 goals) in 63 games for Winchendon last season. She's off to a strong start this season, scoring twice against AHA before posting five points (three goals) at the NAHA showcase. Marsala made USA Hockey's 16/17 Camp over the summer.
Emily Wiese
Masters Academy International, 3/9/2008, D, right shot, 5-6
Hometown: Broomfield, Colo.
NCAA: Assumption
Wiese should be a big factor on MAI's blue line this season, taking on big minutes and serving as a key puck-mover. Her quick skating and hands give her an edge in transition and at the attacking blue line. Wiese had three assists in five games during the NAHA Labor Day Showcase. The former Florida Alliance 19U standout reached 16/17 Camp in 2024 and 2025.
Grace Mumford
Masters Academy International, 2010, D, right shot
Hometown: Arlington, Va.
Mumford has the chance to be a productive blue-liner for MAI after posting plenty of offense for Winchendon last season, finishing with 64 points (55 assists) in 63 games. She reads the play well and can find open lanes. She also facilitates offense well from the point, working pucks to the scoring areas.

Brooklyn Taylor
Masters Academy International, 2010, D, left shot
Hometown: Framingham, Mass.
Taylor spent last season between Worcester Academy and Assabet Valley. She had five assists in 25 prep games. Taylor was among the top '10 defenders at Mass. Hockey Festival in the spring, and she made National 15 Camp in 2025. She makes quick decisions with the puck on breakouts and regroups, and her active stick and high compete help her win defensive battles.
Zoe Dix
Masters Academy International, 8/24/2009, F, left shot, 5-4
Hometown: Sandusky, Ohio
Dix got off to a big start with MAI after two goals and two assists at the NAHA showcase. Dix made heads-up reads, played with high pace and showcased a strong release. She could be a big producer for MAI this winter, as she's fresh off 44 points (22 goals) in 60 games for Lovell Academy's 16U squad last season.
Grace Tullo
Masters Academy International, 3/15/2010, G, catches left, 5-5
Hometown: Commack, N.Y.
Tullo and Caitlyn Elliott figure to hold down the crease for MAI this winter. Tullo went 3-0-0 at the NAHA Labor Day Showcase, posting a .946 save percentage, a 0.67 goals-against average and one shutout. The '10 is coming off two stellar seasons at Winchendon, posting a .936 save percentage and a 1.86 GAA in 26 contests last winter. That followed a .923 save percentage and a 1.89 GAA in 29 appearances in 2024-25.

Hailey Tabb
Masters Academy International, 9/27/2010, F, left shot, 5-7
Hometown: Foxboro, Mass.
Count Tabb among the potential producers to watch during MAI's inaugural season. The '10 was a top scorer for Winchendon last winter with 80 points (33 goals) in 63 games. Tabb also scored the first goal in MAI history during its win over AHA. She added two more goals at the NAHA showcase.
Clare Sullivan
Masters Academy International, 2009, F, right shot
Hometown: Kensington, Md.
Sullivan could be a key producer for MAI, too. The '09 scored over a point per game for Winchendon last season, finishing with 64 points (24 goals) in 63 games. She finds open lanes in the offensive zone and can be an effective penalty-killer.
Tenley Marengi
Masters Academy International, 7/15/2010, F, right shot, 5-6
Hometown: Salisbury, Mass.
Marengi was a consistent scorer at Lovell Academy over the last two seasons. She had 52 points (16 goals) in 62 games with the 14Us in 2024-25 before posting 73 points (19 goals) in 60 games with the Tier 2 16U squad last winter. The 5-foot-6 forward's strength helps her win battles in the attacking zone and keep plays alive. It was on display at Mass. Hockey Festival in the spring and again during the NAHA Labor Day Showcase. She finished with four points (two goals) in five games over the weekend.
