The University of Maine is a long, long way from Anchorage, Alaska, but Jeremy Swayman is making the most of his more than 4,400-mile, cross-country trip to the region his future NHL team calls home. It’s been a whirlwind year for Swayman. He’s not only in the midst of his freshman season with the Black Bears, but also he was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round of the NHL Entry Draft back last June and earned one of three goaltending slots on the United States team that won a bronze medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo last month.
