ATTLEBORO, Mass. — The best championship game of the day came last.
With 8:04 left in the game, the Avon Regals had just given up another goal to the Yale Jr. Bulldogs and went down by two. It wasn't goalie Tyler Spokane's fault the Regals were down, but the coaches wanted to switch things up, swapping in Aiden Hopewell.
The Regals never looked back, scoring two goals in the game's final minutes and winning the game, 5-4, in a shootout. The victory earned them the 18U Beast championship.
