Jacques Bouquot didn’t know much about the British Columbia Hockey League when he left the comforts of New England before last season.
Stated the 19-year-old center from South Windsor, Conn., who’s preparing for his freshman campaign at the University of Vermont: “I went in with an open mind and just wanted to become the best player I could out there.”
By the time his one year on the Pacific Coast was over, he accomplished exactly that, but it didn’t happen without turmoil.
After spending his previous three seasons away from home at Salisbury School, where he was captain as a senior, Bouquot was excited to head westward like several of his prep school teammates.
