The 2018 Boston Junior Bruins Shootout gave scouts and college coaches their first look at teams and players from the USPHL NCDC, all under one roof at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Mass.

USPHL NCDC league games took place Friday through Monday, were on time and and teams were younger than past years – a credit to the league. With the new rule limiting teams to seven overage players (‘98s), some organizations have looked to imports to stockpile their rosters.

Northeastern recruit Robby Griffin (Burlington, Mass.) is the league’s only real shot at a draft pick come the 2019 NHL Draft. While there doesn’t appear to be any legit NHL prospect in the USPHL NCDC, there are some good players and some uncommitted players who will one day find their way onto a Division 1 college roster.
