Last Friday, the rosters were unveiled for the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game that will showcase the nation’s top talent for the 2019 NHL Draft. The game will take place September 19 at the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
2019 could be a banner year for Americans at the draft, as USA Hockey NTDP center Jack Hughes is expected to be selected first overall. Wisconsin commit and NTDP teammate Alex Turcotte is also projected to go high.
Four other NTDP prospects, all with ties to the region, could also hear their names called in the first round: Boston College commits Spencer Knight of Darien, Conn., Matt Boldy of Millis, Mass., and Cam York, plus Boston University commit Alex Vlasic.
While a good case can be made for most of the 42 players invited to the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, there were five players not invited with a good case for inclusion.
