MARLBORO, Mass. -- The Boston Junior Eagles won the Massachusetts 18-U State Tournament over the weekend at the New England Sports Center.

Led offensively by Rivers center and Yale commit Philip Tresca (Newton, Mass.), Thayer forward and Northeastern commit Sasha Teleguine (Attleboro, Mass.) and Nobles center Casey Severo, the Junior Eagles claimed the organization’s second straight state championship at the 18-U level.

The Junior Eagles, coached by Sean Coffey (Needham, Mass.), defeated Top Gun, 8-3, in the quarterfinals on Saturday. After that, the team beat the Neponset Valley River Rats 5-1 in Sunday morning’s semifinal. In the final, the Junior Eagles stormed back with three goals on a five-minute major power play in the third period en route to an entertaining 6-5 win over the Eastern Mass Senators.
