Thirteen New England prospects will participate in this weekend’s prestigious STX 68 Combine, an invitational-only showcase featuring the best 2004-born players in the United States.
The STX 68 Combine takes place just outside of Chicago at the Seven Bridges Arena in Woodridge, Ill. While the ‘04s are still almost two years away from NTDP selection and drafts for the USHL, OHL and QMJHL, the event will still be well attended by college coaches, junior scouts, USA Hockey personnel, and NHLPA agents.
The STX 68 Combine is traditionally a strong indication of future success. Fifteen players from last year’s event, featuring the ‘03s, have already committed to Division 1 programs, including several from New England.
Forwards Ryan St. Louis and Jack Hughes have both pledged to Northeastern, while Boston University has picked up commitments from forwards Tyler Boucher and Jeremy Wilmer. Boston College has secured the services of defenseman Aidan Hreschuk.
From the '02 class at the STX Combine, goaltender Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.)Â and forward Sasha Teleguine (North Attleboro, Mass.) have committed to Boston University and Northeastern, respectively.
One ’04 from New England will head to the 2018 STX 68 Combine with a commitment in hand. Mid Fairfield defenseman Charlie Leddy committed to Boston College earlier this week after standout performances in the Beantown NAPS, BU Prep Showcase, and Crimson Combine.
