NEEDHAM, Mass. — With the watchful eyes of scouts from all 31 NHL organizations looking on, Jayden Struble proved his skill and athleticism over and over again at the St. Sebastian’s Christmas Tournament.
The Northeastern commit from Cumberland, R.I., led the hosts to the championship with wins over Winchendon, Albany Academy and Northwood School. Struble had three goals and three assists over the course of the three games.
A left-shot defenseman, Struble leads the Arrows in scoring. In addition to being a threat with the puck on his stick, Struble is a physical presence who likes to throw his weight around.
This weekend, Struble showed why he’s the most talented defenseman in prep school hockey. It’s not even close. However, while his physical tools are undeniable, his draft stock doesn’t come without an asterisk.
