St. Paul's has a target on its back this season.
The Pelicans are coming off their second Large School tournament championship in four seasons.
The outlook wasn't as bright at the start of the season, though. St. Paul's had an up-and-down start, sitting 4-5-0 entering the holiday break. But the Pelicans returned to go on a 15-3-2 stretch en route a Lakes Region title and their tournament run.
"I think it was just a testament to the kids, like we have great kids that love to play hockey and love St. Paul's," coach Kelli Mackey said. "It was really exciting."
