Ryan Hardy has left his position as an amateur scout with the Boston Bruins in order to take over as the general manager of the USHL’s Chicago Steel.
The Branford, Conn., native has been largely responsible for scouting the USHL for the Bruins organization the past two seasons. Prior to his tenure with the Bruins, Hardy served as the director of player personnel for one season and the assistant director of player personnel for two seasons with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP).
Hardy, 30, also spent time as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University and Williams College. In addition, he was the head coach of Daniel Hand High School in Connecticut for a season and the head coach of the NAHL’s Springfield Blues for a short time.
