Recruiting: Goalie Ryan Wilson, D-man Harry Meirowitz pick Army, Brown

By Jeff CoxNovember 18, 2019

Springfield Jr. Blues G Ryan Wilson has committed to Army West Point (Joni Coons)

It wasn’t solely a hockey decision when Darien, Conn., native Ryan Wilson chose to commit to play college hockey at Army West Point.

In his first season of junior hockey with the Springfield Junior Blues in the North American Hockey League, Wilson decided the entire package was the reason to become a Black Knight.

“I chose Army for a few reasons. One being that it’s a great organization with a great coaching staff, which has to do with them doing well this year so far,” Wilson said. “Also, after you graduate, whether you get to play pro or not, the connections and opportunities are endless.”

Wilson, who has a .904 save percentage in 15 NAHL games this season, began to truly garner junior hockey and college hockey interest last season while with Chadd Cassidy’s program at Northwood School.
