The girls prep hockey scene is chock full of talent once again.
There are plenty of Division 1 commits to note, and many more prospects will be high on recruiting radars this season.
Phillips Andover has its fair share of preseason representation. Still, there are also other key teams to watch this season with one or multiple players earning a nod in our preseason honors.
Let's dive into our preseason girls First and Second Large School teams.
First team
F: Morgan McGathey, Thayer
McGathey (Braintree, Mass.) is well-established as one of the premier scorers in prep. The Harvard commit put up 29 goals (third in NEPSAC) and 42 points (fourth in NEPSAC) in 24 games last season, following 26 goals and 42 points in 25 games as a sophomore. Sitting at over a goal per game for her career (77 in 73 games), the senior figures to lead Thayer’s offense again.
F: Evelyn Doyle, Dexter Southfield
Doyle (Needham, Mass.) is an exciting player in all three zones for Dexter Southfield. She led the team in scoring last season as a sophomore, putting up 26 points, and doubling her goal output to 14 from the previous system. After helping Dexter to the Large School final, the junior will be integral to their success this season. Doyle is committed to Yale.

F: Sarah Powers, Phillips Andover
Powers (Lynnfield, Mass.) broke out to lead Phillips Andover with 15 goals. Her 24 points in 25 games as a sophomore were a big step up from her 16-point (nine-goal) freshman season. Powers, a recent Boston College commit, plays a high-energy brand of hockey. The junior is one of several pieces that will lead a deep Andover attack.
D: Catie Collins, Loomis Chaffee
Collins (South Burlington, Vt.) is one of the top defenders in NEPSAC, impacting the game in all three zones for Loomis Chaffee. She continues to add offense to her game, coming off a six-goal, 14-point season, which doubled her totals from her sophomore year. The senior Princeton commit figures to lead the Pelicans from the back end again.

D: Molly Boyle, Phillips Andover
Boyle (Scituate, Mass.) plays intelligently, moves the puck quickly and is effective in the defensive zone. The senior Yale commit is coming off 18 points (five goals) as a junior. She figures to be one of the heartbeats of a stacked Andover team.
G: Campbell Krotee, Deerfield
Krotee (Darien, Conn.) was thrust into a near-impossible spot for the Big Green last season as the lone goalie on the roster after senior Lauren Sobczak was injured before the season. Krotee met the moment and then some, helping Deerfield to the Elite 8 with a .930 save percentage. She faced the second-most shots of any Elite 8 goalie last season. The senior recently committed to Holy Cross.
Second team
F: Maria Gray, Phillips Exeter
Gray led the Big Red with 26 points and 16 goals in 26 games. Both were career highs. The junior parlayed her big season into a commitment to Vermont. Gray, a dynamic forward with the U19 Valley Junior Warriors, figures to headline Exeter again this season.

F: Hannah Weyerhaeuser, BB&N
Weyerhaeuser (Cambridge, Mass.) missed nearly all of last season with a broken collarbone. She was a point-per-game player when she returned, putting up six goals and nine points as BB&N went on a run to the Large School title. It followed a 12-goal, 24-point sophomore year. Back at full health, the senior Yale commit has been a major play driver on a stacked U19 East Coast Wizards squad this fall.
F: Molly MacCurtain, Nobles
MacCurtain (Reading, Mass.) has been a steady producer in her first three seasons at Nobles. She had her best season yet en route to an Elite 8 title, posting a point per game with 31 in 31 games. The Northeastern commit’s 14 goals nearly doubled her previous career high.
D: Maddie Murphy, Dexter Southfield
Murphy (Dorchester, Mass.) is a strong, rangy, do-it-all defender for Dexter Southfield. Her 16 points (six goals) in 27 games ranked fourth for her team last season. She set career highs across the board, including doubling her previous goal total. The Boston College commit looks to help the team build off last season’s run to the Large School final.

D: Ava Decourcey, Nobles
Decourcey (Rockland, Mass.) reclassified to the class of 2027 after transferring from Tilton to Nobles. She’s been one of the most productive blueliners in NEPSAC through her first two seasons. She posted 16 goals and 24 points in 30 games last year, following 21 points (nine goals) the year prior. She’ll step right into a premier role at Nobles.
G: Avery Rodeheffer, Phillips Andover
Rodeheffer (New Haven, Conn.) seemed to get better as the season went on last winter, helping Andover reach the Elite 8 semis with a .941 save percentage, which followed a .946 from the previous season. Committed to Michigan for rowing, she'll be the backbone of the Big Blue again this winter.
