Parker Ford will be the lone New England representative out of the 21 players on the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete in the 2018 World Jr. A Challenge. The tournament takes place Dec. 9-16 in Bonnyville, Alberta. The U.S. has captured the Gold Medal at the event four times: 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
The Wakefield, R.I., native is in his second season with the USHL’s Sioux City Musketeers. He has six goals and six assists in 15 games played this season. A year ago, he posted eight goals and 14 assists in 51 games.
Committed to Providence College, Ford is a slightly undersized forward, but he plays the game the right way. He forechecks hard, hunts pucks and isn’t afraid to go to the greasy areas.
Prior to joining the Musketeers, Ford played two seasons at Selects Academy.
