Prep school hockey continues to be the most common path to college hockey for those in the New England region.
That trend continues as the 2018-19 prep school hockey season is set to begin later this month. Some 81 prep school players are currently committed to playing college hockey.
Six NEPSAC players were selected in the 2018 NHL Draft, headlined by Thayer center Jay O'Brien, who was picked in the first round by the Philadelphia Flyers. The Hingham, Mass., native is now at Providence College.
Next up was Kimball Union defenseman Jordan Harris, who went to the Montreal Canadiens in the third round. The Haverhill, Mass., native is now starring on the blue line for Northeastern.
