Last weekend, many of the top 2003-born players in the Bay State competed in the Massachusetts Hockey CCM High Performance Select 16 Festival at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro.
Approximately 80 players competed over the course of three days in hopes of earning a spot to this upcoming weekend’s Massachusetts Hockey CCM High Performance Final 40. From there, 12 players will be selected to participate in the 2019 USA Hockey Select 16 Player Development Camp this July in Amherst, N.Y.
A few of the top ‘03s from the state were not there due to USA Hockey giving those who attended the NTDP Evaluation Camp in Plymouth, Mich., back in March a pass to national camp.
Most of the selections were pretty obvious, but I thought a goaltender was unfairly left off the list of players moving on to Final 40. Below is my full list of who I’d have sent on to next weekend’s Final 40, in order, and with notes on a few prospects who stood out:
