Former Middlebury player and assistant coach Mason Graddock has been hired by Army West Point to join Brian Riley’s staff as an assistant coach.
The Stowe, Vermont, native comes to the Black Knights after two seasons as an assistant coach with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. Prior to that, he spent the 2015-16 season as a volunteer assistant under Jeff Jackson at Notre Dame.
Graddock played for Middlebury from 2005-2009, serving as the team’s captain during his senior year. Following a brief minor pro career that included three games in the American Hockey League, he returned to his alma mater to be an assistant coach from 2011-2015.
Graddock replaces Chris McKelvie, who left Army to become the head coach of Division III Bethel University in Minnesota. The other Black Knights' assistant is McKelvie’s twin brother, Zach.
