Michael Doherty and Sam Kurker’s familiarity with each other goes back long before Manchester Monarchs coach Rich Seeley put them on a line together early on this ECHL season.
Kurker remembers when Doherty was the No. 1 overall pick in the Reading, Mass., Babe Ruth league one year. Kurker was probably a late-round flyer that season, Doherty joked.
