It’s Here: June 2018 edition of New England Hockey Journal

By Jonathan SigalJune 4, 2018

Our annual NHL Draft preview is fresh off the presses and available to digital subscribers!

We took an in-depth look at likely first-rounder Oliver Wahlstrom (Quincy, Mass.) and his circuitous path to college hockey. Hint: Wahlstrom has been banging in goals left and right for the U.S. National Team Development Program. Many NHL teams are after his services.

We also broke down New England’s top 14 draft prospects, many of whom have roots in prep schools. Jordan Harris (Haverhill, Mass.) of Kimball Union Academy and Jay O’Brien (Hingham, Mass.) of Thayer Academy are especially worth keeping an eye on.

Outside of the NHL Draft, we look back upon Strauss Mann’s (Greenwich, Conn.) incredible USHL season. The goaltender, who’s a Michigan commit and former Brunswick School standout, led the Fargo Force to the Clark Cup.

There’s also a longform story on Cal and Cameron Burke, the Boxboro, Mass., brothers who are on the verge of something special at Notre Dame.

From prospects to pros, we have you covered.

Stories from the magazine will be posted throughout the month, but you can view the magazine in its entirety by subscribing today.
