Jeff Hill has been promoted to full-time assistant coach for the University of Vermont hockey team.
The Cranston, R.I., native had spent the past two seasons as Director of Hockey Operations and the season before that as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater.
Hill was a backup goaltender for the Catamounts from 2004 through 2008 after playing prep hockey at South Kent. His previous coaching experience includes time as an assistant coach at Rice Memorial Prep and St. Michael's College, as well as three seasons as the head coach of the midget program at Culver Military Academy in Indiana.
Hill steps up to fill the void left when associate head coach Kyle Walack departed to become the head coach at Division 3 upstart program Albertus Magnus College. Hill joins Kevin Patrick as Kevin Sneddon's two full-time assistant coaches.
In 2017-18, the Catamounts finished with a 10-20-7 record and bowed out in the first round of the Hockey East Tournament to Greg Carvel's UMass program.
