The Toronto Bulldogs captured the 2018 Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament title with a 2-1 overtime victory over Toronto Pro Hockey in the championship game.
The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament, showcasing 2008-birth year teams from across the continent, takes place every summer at the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta. This year’s tournament ran from July 2 to July 8. Many NHL stars and elite college players participated in the tournament’s previous renditions.
The Connecticut Junior Rangers were coached by former NHL star and Vermont alum Martin St. Louis, plus Jeff Hamilton and Kevin Peel-Ketchum. St. Louis' son, Mason, was on the team. His other son, Ryan, is committed to Northeastern as a 15-year-old forward.
Joseph Banas led the team in goal scoring with six tallies, while adding an assist to tie for the team lead in points. Also racking up seven points were Nolan Duskocy and Joseph Salandra.
The Boston Junior Bruins also competed in the 2018 Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament. They fared well, finishing just shy of a playoff spot. William Bent paced the offense with three goals and an assist.
