The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) held its annual draft on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Several New England players and a few Canadian prospects committed to local colleges were selected.
Tom Barbatiwas the first prospect scooped up from the region. The St. John’s Prep defenseman and Tewksbury, Mass., resident went in the sixth round, 105th overall, to the Acadie Bathurst Titan, the 2018 QMJHL and Memorial Cup champion.
