The 2026 NCAA Division 1 men's ice hockey tournament is upon us. It's one of the best times of the year.
As of early Sunday morning, the conference championships are over. Locally, Merrimack won the Hockey East championships over UConn, while Dartmouth won in ECAC Hockey and Bentley in Atlantic Hockey.
Five teams from New England will fight for spots in the Frozen Four, which will be held in Las Vegas on April 9 and 11.
Michigan locked up the No. 1 overall seed. The other three No. 1 seeds are North Dakota, Michigan State and defending champion Western Michigan.

One of the four regionals will be hosted at DCU Center in Worcester, Mass., March 26-28. The other three regionals are Albany, N.Y., Loveland, Colo., and Sioux Falls, S.D.
The official bracket will be announced on Sunday at 3 p.m. on ESPNU.
