MARLBORO, Mass. — The 2026 New England District tryouts are in the books.
Over the weekend, 304 of the region's top players across the 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 birth years took over the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Mass.
The ’09s and ’10s competed for spots at National 16/17 Camp, as well as the Under-18 Women’s National Team Festival. The ’11s will compete for spots at National 15 Camp and the U18 WNT Festival. The National Camp selections are expected to be announced later in May.
I spent Saturday watching the '09s and the '10s, and I caught the '11s on Sunday.
Many of the '09s are going into their junior or senior years in prep. This weekend was another chance for uncommitted prospects to show well.
Let's dive into 12 uncommitted standouts from the '09s. We'll get to the 2010 and 2011 standouts later this week.
Blake Metcalf
Cushing, 2009, D, right shot
Hometown: Scarborough, Maine
Metcalf's size gave her an advantage in the defensive zone and 1-on-1 matchups down low. With the puck, she was poised on breakouts, handling pressure well. Her eyes were always up, and she consistently found outlet passes or skating lanes. Offensively, she wasn't afraid to shoot and take an open lane. Metcalf is a rising junior.

Karli Charron
Choate/Mid Fairfield CT Stars, 07/2009, D, right shot, 5-8
Hometown: Darien, Conn.
Charron's skating gave her a leg up all day on Saturday. She showed good speed in transition and had quick feet to evade defenders on regroups. She scored twice, including a heads-up shot from the right point after making herself available and shooting for a tip. The latter was on a penalty shot. She and Reagan Deery later combined for a Grade-A look. Charron found her on an outlet and drove up the middle, walking into the slot off a quick sauce pass for a fantastic chance. Charron a rising junior.
Charlotte Peltz
Pomfret/Connecticut Polar Bears, 9/29/2009, D, right shot, 5-5
Hometown: West Simsbury, Conn.
Peltz scored a beauty on Saturday. She got the play started with a quick regroup to spring Kaidence Wright the other way. Wright drove wide and dished to the slot. The pass didn't connect, but Peltz smartly followed the play and got the loose puck at the trailer before picking the top corner with a snipe. She's a rising junior.
Olivia Consolo
Hebron, 2009, D, right shot, 5-5
Hometown: Amston, Conn.
Consolo consistently made plays in the neutral and offensive zones, jumping into plays, especially after scoring earlier in the day. She led a strong rush, weaving into the slot and shooting. She fought through contact to get to her own rebound before burying it in tight. Consolo is a rising junior.

Natasha Godfrey
Brooks/Valley Jr. Warriors, 04/2009, F, right shot
Hometown: Scarborough, Maine
Godfrey, a rising junior, drove play whenever she was on the ice. She dug pucks out of battles and got them to the net, leading to consistent chances in high-danger areas. She showcased strong hands and good speed through the neutral zone, too.
Grace Pacholski
Suffield Co-op/Connecticut Polar Bears, 2009, D, left shot, 5-10
Hometown: Enfield, Conn.
Pacholski's size, strength and reach made a difference down low in the defensive zone. She consistently outmuscled opponents and broke up plays with her long reach. Pacholski played with a ton of compete and knew when to take chances. She broke up one exit in particular, cutting off the outlet pass, which led to a great chance for her side. Pacholski is coming off her junior season with the Suffield Co-op.
Allegra Jenkins
Governor's/Assabet Valley, 1/23/2009, D, left shot, 5-3
Hometown: Exeter, N.H.
Jenkins made good decisions and was strong with the puck on her stick. She consistently found outlets, and she used her legs effectively to open lanes and avoid pressure, cutting away and shielding from opposing forecheckers. Jenkins is a rising senior.

Reagan Deery
Deerfield/Mid Fairfield CT Stars, 2009, F, right shot
Hometown: Darien, Conn.
Deery, a rising junior, was impactful throughout the day. She won pucks and showed some smooth hands. One of her best chances came as she tracked down a puck at the top of the zone, stealing it and keeping the pressure up. She dangled multiple defenders for a backhand in tight. Later, Deery had a fantastic saucer pass in a tight space to send Charron into open space in the slot.
Lexi Berger
Choate/Mid Fairfield CT Stars, 12/2009, F, left shot
Hometown: Simsbury, Conn.
Berger showed strong hands and vision with the puck down low in the offensive zone. She was poised and made plays. Berger scored a beauty to cap a dominant shift with Lindsey Kunzelmann, cutting toward the net out of the corner and roofing a short-side bid from a tough angle. It was a sweet finish. Berger is a rising junior.
Miren Woolven
Greenwich High/Connecticut Junior Rangers, 2009, F, right shot, 5-9
Hometown: Greenwich, Conn.
Woolven made a difference on the forecheck, forcing turnovers and disrupting defenders. She was strong on drives to the net, too, including one that opened space for Peltz's follow-up goal. Woolven had a terrific chance of her own, pulling the puck free and curling around the circle before ringing the crossbar with a quick shot. She's coming off her sophomore year with Greenwich High.

Maggie Lyden
Greenwich Academy/Connecticut Polar Bears, 05/2009, F, right shot
Hometown: Stamford, Conn.
Lyden, a rising junior, did well as a puck carrier in transition. She generated speed with the puck on her stick and was strong finding skating lanes out of the defensive zone and through neutral ice. She and her linemates, particularly Jadin Bingham, generated several odd-numbered rushes. Lyden also had a hell of an effort on the back check to cut off Wright and break up her solo rush before getting things going the other way.
Maria Gilshannon
Frederick Gunn/Mid Fairfield CT Stars, 01/2009, F, left shot, 5-6
Hometown: Fairfield, Conn.
Gilshannon's skating, hands and confidence allowed her to create chances. She had a slick spin move early on before trying to get to the middle. Later, she stole the puck in the neutral zone and danced in for a Grade-A look short-side. She's a rising senior.
