When Team USA heads to Zug, Switzerland, in mid-January for the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship, it could be full of New Englanders.
In all, 11 locals will be at selection camp later this month hoping to make the trip to Switzerland in pursuit of a gold medal. They will gather Oct. 29-31 in Blaine, Minn., for the selection camp.
Along with the 11 New Englanders, head coach Liz Keady Norton is from Braintree, Mass., and is currently the head coach at Dartmouth.
Of the 11, two are from Vermont: defenders Megan Healy (South Burlington, Vt.) and Taylor Senecal (Essex Junction, Vt.). Healy, an '07, plays for Bishop Kearney Selects while Senecal, also an '07, skates for North American Hockey Academy.
