Quick hits

  • Sabres star forward Thomas Vanek – who’s long been a Bruins killer – returned from an 11-game stint in Austria, where he played for his hometown squad, Graz. Vanek racked up 15 points overseas.

History lesson

  • On this day 76 years ago – OK, 1936 if you’re a little shaky on math – the AHL was born. Read more about their birthday here.

Entirely off-topic

  • Entertainment Weekly has put together a list of15 video games they really miss. Check it out. I’m proud to say I owned six of them, none more groundbreaking than Donkey Kong Country.
