History lesson
On this day in 2009, the Bruins scored three power-play goals (honest to God!) against the Senators, but Milan Michalek buried the equalizer for Ottawa with 20 ticks left. Things went to the shootout where Michael Ryder – Boston’s fourth shooter – beat Brian Elliott before Tim Thomas stopped Carrie Underwood’s husband, securing a 4-3 victory for the B’s.
