Good reads

  • Former Bruin Stan Jonathan has been arrested and charged with criminal negligence after a hunting accident led to the death of a man in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday.

  • Once Patrick Kane decided to team up with Tyler Seguin in Biel, just about everyone figured there might be wild times ahead. No one, however, would’ve guessed it’d involve the two star forwards being thrown around in a sand-filled, bullfighting-esque ring by a wrestler.

  • On Day 61 of the NHL lockout, Pierre LeBrun says that the long-term damage both the NHL and NHLPA have caused can’t be undone.

  • You probably knew that if there’s no season, then a player loses every cent he would’ve been paid. But I bet you didn’t know he also loses a year off his contract.

Quick hits

  • Ryan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) of the Valley Junior Warriors announced on Twitter he’d officially signed his letter of intent to play at Boston College.

  • Worcester Sharks goalie Alex Stalock pushed his winning streak to seven games on Wednesday night, stopping 20-of-22 in a 4-2 win in Portland over the Pirates. With the victory, the Sharks jumped into first place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division.

History lesson

  • On this day in 2001, the Bruins put five pucks past Martin Brodeur, the fifth of which came off Joe Thornton’s stick in overtime to give the B’s a 5-4 win over the Devils. Hal Gill had a goal and an assist, while Bill Guerin (Wilbraham, Mass.) had a three point night with a goal and two assists.

Entirely off-topic

  • Are you one of those crazy whackos that spurns your entire family and Thanksgiving dinner in order to get the first spot in line at Target for their Black Friday opening? Well, you freaks, I’ve got some great news: just about every store will be opening between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. For the love of God, please be sure to not kill anyone over the $189 laptop.
