What other sports did you play as a kid? 
“I played golf, a lot of tennis in the summer, baseball and lacrosse. In high school, I played football, hockey and lacrosse. I liked to get away from hockey during the offseason.”
Who’s the hardest goalie to beat in the NHL?
“Everyone’s tough. In practice, I have a hard enough time scoring on our goalies when they’re barely trying. Obviously, Tim Thomas is an amazing goalie. I would say he’s probably up there.”
Who’s the fastest player you’ve ever gone up against?
“Well, we just played (Alex) Ovechkin. He’s one of those guys that just flies once he gets going. Last year, I experienced a pretty tough one against Jason Chimera. He went to the fifth gear and blew right by me.”
Who’s the last player you’d want to lay a big hit on you?
“Cam Janssen on our team. And you don’t ever want to get hit by (Zdeno) Chara. (Milan) Lucic can lay some big checks.”
If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?
“I’d probably say the Bahamas. I went there for a high school senior trip and that was pretty fun.”
If your luggage was lost, what would you miss the most?
“Not too much. I think I’d fare pretty well with what I have on.”
Do you have any pets?
“My parents have a dog, Hazel. It’s a Bernese Mountain Dog.”
What was the worst course you had to take in school?
“Music appreciation of the classical era. I thought it was going to be a bit easier.”
If forced to do karaoke, what song would you pick?
“Something by Bruce Springsteen. Maybe ‘Born in the USA.’”
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
“Batman.”
