Staff Report

In the wake of the tragic events that saw 20 children and six adults shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn., countless efforts have been made to aid the devastated community and its reeling residents.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, a high school hockey game will take place between Trumbull and Newtown at 6 o’clock at the Rinks at Shelton in Shelton, Conn. All proceeds from admission will benefit the victims of the Newtown tragedy. SportsCenter of Connecticut will be hosting the event.

The money will be given directly to Newtown Savings Bank, which is working in conjunction with the United Way. They have set up a fund for the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy.
