Pickett is embarking on her second year as one of the squad's tri-captains. As a junior, she set a career high in goals, assists and points for the Huskies. She was named to the All-Hockey East Second Team and was an All-New England Division I All-Star.

Pickett led the nation with four shorthanded goals and had 12 multi-point games in 2011-12.

“It's truly an honor to be named one of the captains of this incredibly talented team,” Pickett said. “It's not a title that I take lightly, and I hope that I can be the type of leader that our team wants and needs this season.”

Brennolt chipped in seven assists last year for NU as a sophomore, playing in all 33 games. A native of Illinois, she was named the Northeastern Coaches' Award winner.

MacSorley, an Ontario native, placed sixth on the Huskies with 16 points last year. She was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team.

“We have three captains this year that are great role models on and off the ice,” said head coach Dave Flint. “I am looking forward to having Casey, Maggie, and Katie lead a talented group of athletes this upcoming season.”

NU went 22-7-4 last season and won its 15th Beanpot title. They'll begin the year with a pair of back-to-back games on the road against Colgate and Syracuse on Oct. 5-6.
