WHAT TO WATCH FOR

* Not counting the preseason, this will be the first meeting between these two clubs since last April. All three meetings in their season series will go down this month, with the Caps coming to town twice in the span of six days. For those of you that enjoy watching Ovie in action, well, pay close attention this week.

* The season is 75 percent in the books, and it's still unclear who Washington's No. 1 goalie is. Braden Holtby gets the lion's share of starts, but owns the worst numbers (2.91, .912) of the three netminders the Caps have called upon in 2013-14. Holtby had a rough first game back, allowing four goals to the Panthers. Hopefully Boston can pick up where Florida left off if he gets the nod again today.

* The Capitals' power play has been their saving grace. They rank second in the NHL at 22.4 percent. They'll miss Mikhail Grabovski (ankle), but a top unit of Martin Erat, Nick Backstrom and Troy Brouwer up front, with Ovechkin and John Carlson (Marlborough, Mass.) at the points is something the B's don't want to see a lot of this afternoon. If they shade toward Ovechkin when Washington's on the man advantage, Carlson and Brouwer are more than capable of making them pay. Of the 26 goals the two have combined to score this season, 13 have come on the man advantage.
