  • Keith Aucoin (Chelmsford, Mass.) reached another historic AHL milestone.

  • The NHL's lawsuit against its players was assigned to a relatively new federal judge who is a longtime New York Yankees fan and a former federal prosecutor.

Quick hits

  • J.J. Solloway (Derry, N.H.) of the Northern Cyclones was named the AJHL’s Goaltender of the Week. Solloway is 11-4 on the year with a 2.17 goals-against average.

  • History lesson

  • On this day in 2008, a wide-eyed rookie by the name of Jesse Connolly made his press box debut at a building that was then known as TD Banknorth Garden. David Krejci had his first career hat trick, Vesa Toskala got pulled, then Curtis Joseph got pulled in favor of Vesa Toskala, at which point the Bruins pulled Tim Thomas and put in Manny Fernandez. When all was said and done, the B’s beat the Leafs by a score of 8-5.
