Colin McDonald (New Haven, Conn.) had two goals and two assists for Bridgeport on Sunday in a 7-2 victory over the Crunch. The win ended an eight-game losing streak for the Sound Tigers.
Merrimack will look to pick up just their second win in their last nine games when they play host to Army tonight. The Warriors have scored just 13 goals during their current 1-5-6 run, which includes a 3-1 loss to the USA Under-18 Team in an exhibition game on Saturday.
Happy birthday to Jean-Paul Parise, who turns 71 today. Zach Parise’s dad played in a combined 21 games for the Bruins during the 1965-66 and 1966-67 campaigns. Most of his NHL career was spent with the Minnesota North Stars. He finished with 594 points in 890 NHL games. He also had a rad nickname: Jeep.
