Good reads

  • Odds are high you read this yesterday, but here’s why CSN’s Joe Haggerty believes Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs should be held responsible for the large role he’s played in the continuation of the lockout.

  • Great piece by Michael Russo of the Star Tribune on Wild goaltender Josh Harding, who plans to turn his battle with MS into a success story.

  • Cory Schneider (Marblehead, Mass.) has decided to join HC Ambri-Piotta, a team that currently sits in 11th place in the 12-team Swiss league.

  • Good stuff from Sportsnet’s Michael Grange, who ponders if Donald Fehr might’ve missed the true message of his mentor, Marvin Miller.

Quick hits

  • Well, I didn’t win Powerball, which sucks. If you’re taking the time to read this, you probably didn’t either.

History lesson

  • On this day in 1990, Randy Burridge scored two goals and Andy Moog made 25 saves in Boston’s 4-2 win over Edmonton. The visiting Oilers, of course, beat the Bruins in the Cup finals earlier that spring. Joe Murphy, a member of the B’s for about two months in 1999, scored one of Edmonton’s two goals.

Today on NEHJ

  • Stay tuned for Allen Lessels’ latest Atlantic Hockey Journal, featuring the red-hot UConn Huskies.

Entirely off-topic

  • Lindsay Lohan’s life remains in freefall mode. First, her recent portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in a lifetime flick was panned. She followed that up by getting arrested for assault early this morning.
