College hockey is back. The woeful Maine Black Bears host Minnesota Duluth this evening in the only Hockey East-related action. In the ECAC, Yale will take on the Russian Touring Team (?).
In AHL action, Providence will take on the Phantoms for the second and final time this season when they visit Adirondack tonight. The P-Bruins won their first matchup by a score of 3-2 in overtime, with Kyle MacKinnon potting the game-winner.
Happy 52nd birthday to Ray Bourque, a legend so well-known that you deserve a swift slap across the face if you need a refresher on all that he accomplished as a Bruin. The Hall of Famer had 1,506 points in 1,518 tilts during a career that spanned four decades with the Black and Gold before going on to win the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche. Good luck to anyone intent on prying the top spot on Boston’s all-time scoring list away from him.
Today is a Marcel the Shell kind of day. If only we could all hang glide on doritos.
