Gameday Blog: Bruins vs. Ducks

SECOND INTERMISSION

SCORE
BOS - 2
ANA - 1

SHOTS
BOS - 12
ANA - 7

After controlling play in the second period the Bruins will head to the third up 2-1 over the Ducks.

Captain Zdeno Chara got the B's on the board 4:37 into the frame, burying an unassisted slapper.

Just 1:22 later, Chris Kelly fed Benoit Pouliot for a gorgeous snap shot that eluded Hiller to make it 2-0.

The Ducks still have a fighting shot thanks to ageless wonder Teemu Selanne. The Finnish Flash tallied on the power with 10:59 to go in the period, tipping the puck past Turco to make it 2-1.

Boston's been dominant at the dot, winning 25-of-42 faceoffs thus far. Defenseman Greg Zanon has dished out a game-high four hits through 40 minutes.

Twenty fairly uneventful minutes are in the books out in Anaheim where the Bruins and Ducks are scoreless.

Scoring chances were few and far between, but the Ducks had the best bid of the frame.

A Ducks d-man put a shot on net and Corey Perry was there for the rebound. He tried to flip it up over Marty Turco but the B's netminder robbed him with a glove stop.

Overall Turco looked light-years better than he did down in Tampa -- a start in which he allowed three goals in less than five minutes.

Jonas Hiller wasn't too busy down the other end and was sparingly tested, notably on Boston's power play 5:12 into the contest.
