BOSTON – Boston University defenseman David Warsofsky has signed a contract with the Boston Bruins, forfeiting his final year of college eligibility.

Warsofsky, a Marshfield, Mass., native, was the Terriers’ highest-scoring defenseman this year with 7-15-22 totals. His production was down from last year’s 12-11-23 line.

A fourth-round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues in 2008, he was acquired by Boston last year in the trade that sent Vladimir Sobotka to St. Louis. He has already joined the Bruins’ AHL affiliate in Providence.
