Danbury Whalers holding open tryout
DANBURY, Conn. – The Danbury Whalers, who will begin play in the new Federal Hockey League this fall, will hold an open tryout camp on June 25 and 26.
The two-day event will feature 750 minutes of hockey from over 100 free agent hockey players competing for 17 spots on the Danbury Whalers. The highlight of the camp will be the Danbury Whalers Summer All-Star Game on Saturday night, featuring the camp's top players.
Admission to the All-Star Game is $5 -- the event is free for season-ticket holders -- and will be the fans’ first chance to hear the Moran Towing Tug Boat Goal Horn live. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the Danbury Whalers at (973) 713-7547 or at the ticket office on the day of the game.
Proceeds from this event will go towards the development of youth hockey programs in the State of Connecticut. In the coming weeks, the Danbury Whalers plan to announce a youth program and tournament jamboree open to teams across the state.
The Federal League is expected to begin play this fall with franchises in Connecticut, New York and Canada.
